Eligibility Criteria for Cochin Shipyard Notification

Candidates must complete Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.

Experience required:

Seven years post qualification experience in mechanical works in a

Shipyard or
Dockyard or
Engineering Company or
Government Establishment.
Out of the seven years experience, two years should be in supervising mechanical works and workmen.

Job Requirements:

Supervision of Stores activities involving Goods receipt, Issue, Maintaining of records and registers, Storage, Upkeep and Preservation of items and all related activities of imported and indigenous items for Ship building and general materials procured for Shipyard, supervise the work provide necessary guidance to store keepers for timely reporting visual damages, shortages etc. of incoming goods, familiar with Customs related procedures for import, shipping bill filing, re-export etc., ensure periodic reporting of relevant data on import goods to Customs, Finance Department etc., ensure safe handling of material, proper storage,
issuance and upkeep of stock and various reports and records of Stores function, carry out any other activities necessary as instructed by the Store officer.

Assistant Engineer (Commercial):

Candidates must complete Three year Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Marine Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.

Experience required:

Seven years post qualification experience in mechanical works in a

Engineering Company or
Government Establishment.
Out of the seven years experience, two years should be in supervising mechanical works and workmen.

Job Requirements:

Experience in project cost estimation, budgeting, preparation of quotations, cost monitoring & cost control during the execution of projects, preparation of invoices/bills for the ship repair works / shipbuilding / new fabrication works & preparation of clarifications on invoice scrutiny. Onboard ship visits as required during the course of repairs. Co-ordination with operation department and attending production meeting for monitoring the overall progress of works. Liaise with the project team for preparing the work completion certificates. Attend negotiation meetings with clients to conclude the contracts, project review meetings, settlement of invoices & signing of settlement sheets. Follow-up with clients on regular basis for payment collection, maintaining project structure in SAP, compiling supporting documents for invoices etc

Age Limit for Cochin Shipyard Recruitment 2022:

Candidates age should not exceed 45 years as on 06th June 2022. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates.

Pay Scale for Cochin Shipyard Notification 2022

Selection Criteria for Cochin Shipyard Notification 2022

The method of selection shall include:-
(i) Phase I – Online test (Objective Type – 40 Marks & Descriptive Type – 40 Marks)
(ii) Phase II – Power point presentation on work experience (20 Marks)
Depending upon the number of online applications, the Phase I shall be held at Kochi or at any place in Kerala as decided by CSL and also other than through online mode. The allocation of examination centre shall be at the sole discretion of CSL.
The Objective type Online test shall be of 45 minutes duration and consists of two parts – General (Part A) and Discipline related (Part B). Part A comprises of General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude
The Descriptive type online test shall be of 40 marks, 90 minutes duration comprising of discipline related questions
The merit list for each post shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the Phase-I
Candidates who score minimum pass marks and above shall be short listed for certificate verification in the order of merit/ reservation. The minimum pass mark each for Objective as well as Descriptive tests shall be as below:-
For unreserved posts – 50 % of Total Marks of each test
For OBC Candidates – 45 % of Total Marks of each test only for vacancies reserved for OBCs
Phase II (Power Point Presentation), shall be held at CSL, Kochi, or any other location as decided by CSL. The Power Point Presentation shall be of duration not more than ten minutes highlighting the work experience of candidates

Cochin Shipyard was incorporated in the year 1972 as a fully owned Govt of India company. In the last three decades the company has emerged as a forerunner in the Indian Shipbuilding & Ship repair industry. This yard can build and repair the largest vessels in India. It can build ships up to 1,10,000 DWT and repair ships up to 1,25,000 DWT. The yard has delivered two of India’s largest double hull Aframax tankers each of 95,000 DWT.

CSL has secured shipbuilding orders from internationally renowned companies from Europe & Middle East and is nominated to build the country’s first indigenous Air Defence Ship. Shipyard commenced ship repair operations in the year 1982 and has undertaken repairs of all types of ships including upgradation of ships of oil exploration industry as well as periodical lay up repairs and life extension of ships of Navy, UTL, Coast Guard, Fisheries and Port Trust besides merchant ships of SCI & ONGC.
