Regarding Akanksha

Given the difficulties faced by State Government employees in building their own houses/flats for their own accommodation, the Governor has been pleased to introduce a new scheme of House Building Loan to State Government Employees named “AKANKSHA” with a provision of 100 crore rupees.

Akanksha Scheme Benefits

Government-selected children are eligible for the scheme. Schools are provided with free medical and engineering coaching for these exams’ selection tests. This programme was launched in 2016-17 to provide free coaching, study materials, and a child-friendly learning environment to prepare them for the prestigious admission test, which they were unable to take due to financial constraints and a lack of appropriate learning materials. The government provided the best teachers and learning materials to the children so that they could compete with children from wealthy families.

Criteria for WB Housing Eligibility

The WB Akansha Housing Scheme has the following requirements:

  • The candidate must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • The Akanksha Awas Yojana is open to all active State Government employees.
  • The candidate should not own a home.

To be eligible for the Akanksha Housing Scheme 2023 benefits, candidates must submit the following documents with their completed application form:

Check With The Housing Department

  • Once the flat is two-handed over or deemed to have been handed over, the Housing Department will not be responsible for any payments towards municipal taxes, charges, levies, and impositions, and the like.
  • Once the project has been completed, the Housing Department, as the sole owner, shall submit the project property, which includes the land, the building, and the common areas and facilities, to the provisions of the Province Flat Possession Act, 1972, by submitting type ‘A’ to the Competent Authority designated below the aforementioned Act of 1972.
  • The Housing Department must register the accepted type ‘A’ under the Registration Act of 1908.
  • Under the executive management of the Housing Department, the Housing Directorate/ Corporation can prepare finance from Public Sector Banks/money establishments at a negotiated rate of interest to meet the value of flat construction and infrastructure development.
  • The Housing Department shall transfer possession of the Common Areas and Facilities to the non-appointive Board of Managers ideally within three months of the date of the meeting specified herein higher than for maintenance and management of the same, but possession of the Common Areas and Facilities shall remain with all flat house owners jointly.
  • The Housing Department shall maintain the common spaces and facilities until the handover of the constant to the allottees/Association, and for such maintenance, the Housing Department shall levy a charge at the rate that will be notified later. Liabilities for the maintenance of the project’s common areas and facilities shall be reinvigorated upon the aforementioned flat house owners Association rather than the Housing department once the period has expired.
  • The Association of flat house owners can maintain and manage the common areas and facilities as of the date of seizing possession of the common areas and facilities. The Housing Department shall hand over any remaining funds from charges levied for such maintenance to the Board of Managers of the flat house owners association.
