The Advantages of the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme
The scheme will provide many benefits to the fisherman of Andhra Pradesh state, including:
- The monetary assistance to fishermen using automated, mechanised, and non-mechanized fishing nets will be increased to Rs.10,000 under the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa plot. Prior to Rs.4,000, the yearly angling boycott period ran from April 15 to June 14.
- The plan includes Komanapalli in Mummidivaram, East Godavari.
- The beneficiaries will receive an increased diesel endowment of Rs.9 per litre. The previous endowment was Rs.6.03 per litre.
- It is reasonable to expect that this plan will benefit a total of 1,32,332 families.
- The ex gratia given to groups of fishermen who died while chasing has also been increased from Rs.5 lakh to Rs.10 lakh. This is only for fishermen between the ages of 18 and 60.
YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Eligibility for the programme
- Must be an AP legal resident – The candidate must be an AP legal resident. To be eligible for the benefits, he must be a permanent resident of the area.
- Fishing must be the primary occupation – It is clearly stated in the scheme draught that only applicants with a primary occupation in fishing will be able to register.
- Members of the fishing community – The applicant must be a member of one of the state’s fishing communities.

YSR Matsyakara Bharosa required Documentation
- Residential documents : Fishermen who want to take advantage of the above-mentioned scheme must provide appropriate residential proof. Only legal and permanent residents of the states are eligible to participate in the scheme.
- Identification : Interested fishermen must provide an Aadhaar card. Higher authorities will examine these identification documents to verify the applicants’ claims.
- Registration certificate : In order to benefit from the scheme, applicants must present official registration certificates issued only by the Fishermen Association.
- Registration of fishing boat : If the fishermen uses his fishing boat, he must submit a copy of his boat’s registration. Only then will the fishermen be able to receive the benefits promised by the scheme.
- Bank account information : The financial grant will be deposited into the fishermen’s bank account. As a result, fishermen must submit bank account documents such as a passbook, account number, IFSC code, and other important information.
Procedure for Applying to YSR Matsyakara Bharosa
- Download the application form from the official website of the YSR Matsayakra Nestham Scheme, www.ap.gov.in, which will be provided as an official link.
- Fill out the application form and follow all of the procedures outlined on the official website.
- Name, date of birth, father’s name, applicant’s address, email id, qualifications details, contact mobile number, and all other relevant details should be filled in correctly.
- Upload a recent photograph of the applicant.
- Attach all required documents, such as:
- The Applicant’s Aadhaar card.
- The Applicant’s voter identification card.
- Identification is required for the fishermen.
- After filling out the form with all of the required information, double-check that all of the information is correct and submit it.

YSR Matsyakara Bharosa Mode of Implementation:
- In the event of an unintentional death or permanent disability, the Village Fisheries Assistants and AIF/FDO concerned shall assist the victim fisher families in submitting proposals in the prescribed manner, including all relevant documents.
- The Village Secretariat shall verify the received proposals and make recommendations to the concerned District Fisheries Officer via the concerned VFA/AIF/FDO/Divisional Officer.
- The field level officers AIF/FDO/Divisional Fisheries Officer should verify at the field level and recommend the eligible applications along with all relevant documents duly certifying the genuineness of the incidents to the DFO concerned. The DFO will forward the application one to the Labour Department through SERP to process the application and make payment of ex-gratia as per eligibility.
- The DFO should send one set of applications, along with supporting documents, to the Commissioner of Fisheries, AP, in Vijayawada for verification and processing.
- The H.O. will review the proposal in accordance with the guidelines and approve the Department’s share of ex-gratia to the legal heirs of deceased / victim fishers for permanent disability, as applicable.
- The ex-gratia amount should be transferred to the victim fisher’s family/victim fisher via DBT online payment.
- When the ex-gratia is transferred to the victim family/victim fishers via DBT, the DFO should notify the victim family/victim fishers, village secretariats, concerned MLAs, and other public representatives of the details of the ex-gratia sanctioned and released in the form of a letter.
- AIF/FDO/Divisional Officer and DFO should keep records with all the details of ex-gratia processed and sanctioned for sharing with higher authorities as and when required.
- Payment of ex-gratia to victim families/victim fishermen should be done in the most transparent and accountable manner possible, leaving no room for misappropriation/negative comments or allegations.
