Introduction of Swachh Bharat Cess of 0.5% on PLI/RPLI Premia. This notification has increased the rate of service tax 0.5% for swachh bharat cess w.e.f 15.11.2015. Due care should be taken of the negative list. All the other items not included in the negative list are liable to be taxed.

Subject : Introduction of Swachh Bharat Cess of 0.5% on services coming under the purview of Service Tax.
Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue vide Notification No.21/2015-Service Tax and 22/2015 – Service Tax dated 06.11.2015 has introduced Cess of 0.5% as Swachh Bharat Cess w.e.f 15.11.2015 on services coming under the purview of Service Tax. Accordingly Service Tax (including Swachh Bharat Cess ) on PLI/RPLI Premia will be collected as under wef 15.11.2015
