National Voters Day Celebration on 25th Jan 2025 – Voters Day Pledge in Telugu & English: Every year on 25th January, India celebrates National Voters Day (NVD) to honor the foundation day of the Election Commission of India (established in 1950). This annual observance underscores the importance of voter participation, especially among the youth, to realize the vision of a universal adult franchise.

As per instructions from the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Electoral Officer, Andhra Pradesh, the following guidelines have been issued to ensure the smooth and impactful celebration of National Voters Day across the state.
Activities to National Voters Day Celebration 2025
District Level Celebrations
1. Organizing Events:
- District Educational Officers (DEOs) will organize events at district headquarters.
- Collaborations with Panchayat Raj institutions, academic organizations, youth volunteer groups like NSS, NCC, Scouts & Guides, and media are encouraged.
2. Pledge Administration:
- The Voter’s Pledge will be administered at 11:00 AM or at another suitable time during the day.
- Participants will reaffirm their commitment to uphold democracy and ensure unbiased participation in elections.
3. Social Media Campaign:
- Photos and updates from the celebrations should be shared using the hashtag NVD 2025 on official social media handles.
- Engagement Activities for Schools and Institutions
- Creative and Educational Programs
Schools and colleges are encouraged to organize:
Debates and Discussions: Highlighting the importance of voting and its role in strengthening democracy.
Competitions: Include drawing, skits, songs, painting, and essay writing.
The objective is to educate students on the significance of elections and inspire them to become responsible voters.
Voter’s Pledge: A Commitment to Democracy
The pledge, in both English and Telugu, emphasizes the citizen’s role in preserving democracy by participating in elections without bias.
Voter’s Pledge (English): | “We, the citizens of India, having abiding faith in democracy, hereby pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair, and peaceful elections, and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language, or any inducement.” |
