“Vidyashakti” programme has been officially rolled out across Andhra Pradesh. Initially piloted between 9th December 2024 and February 2025 in the former Guntur and Chittoor districts, the initiative has shown promising outcomes and is now set to scale statewide.
According to the MoU, it has been decided to expand the Vidyashakti initiative to 5000 schools across the state, which include: AP Schools Vidyashakti Programme
There are 576 residential schools, including KGBVs, APREIS institutions, and A.P. Model Schools, and 4424 non-residential government schools spread among districts.
The IITM Pravartak team’s Vidyashakti initiative focusses on remedial education in English, Mathematics, and Science. Classes will be held live via Zoom from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with no disruption to the regular school academic schedule.
About Vidhya Shakti
Vidhya Shakti is a grass-root level project of building knowledge clusters or Community Learning Centres in Grama Panchayat Schools / Grama Panchayat Public Libraries. Access to digital has opened a world of opportunities to all of us – globalisation, remote education, virtual connections, digital banking & business and almost all our day-to-day work is now digital. Millions of students are able to continue their education & learning through technology and virtually in these pandemic times. But there is still a majority number of students / youth in India, who could not continue their learning / school due to lack of digital infrastructure. This digital divide cascades into a wider economic divide and other related issues – gender disparity, health / hygiene, etc.
Objectives of Vidhya Shakti
- Establish continuity of education in rural through digital medium that can bridge the existing supply – demand gap in teaching resources and the digital gap
- Build intermediary channels for learning through technology towards nurturing a good quality of economic and social living
- Technology innovation to reach the unreached with data analytics and real-time impact assessment
- Empower the vulnerable segments of the population for sustainable and inclusive goals in Education, Employment and women Empowerment
- Connecting the dots with IoT devices for Knowledge transmission & Upgradation AP Schools Vidyashakti Programme
Implementation Instructions
Headmasters of selected schools must designate two teachers as coordinators on a rotational basis, with each assigned to monitor a specific classroom during the Zoom sessions.

Outstanding student performance will be recognized with monthly “Champion Badges.”
Student attendance and progress will be tracked via the LEAP App, Lesson Plans.

Vidyashakti Schedule
Classes will begin from 12th June 2025, the official day of school reopening.
Between 12th and 21st June, the sessions will focus on Yoga and Wellness, aligned with International Yoga Day (21st June).
From 23rd June 2025, the programme will transition to regular subject-based remedial classes.
All District Educational Officers (DEOs) are directed to closely monitor the implementation of the Vidya shakti programme in their respective districts, and also assign one point of contact for Vidya shakti monitoring at the district level, and ensure its Effective and Successful Execution for the benefit of students.
