Andhra Pradesh District Selection Committee (AP DSC) is conducted to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of teachers in government schools in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The eligibility Details for AP DSC are as Follows:

  1. Age Limit: The candidate’s minimum age should be 18 years and maximum age should be 44 years. However, Relaxation in Age limit is Provided for reserved categories as per government rules.
  2. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed their Graduation/Post Graduation and B.Ed degree from a recognized university or institution. Additionally, candidates who have completed their D.Ed or Language Pandit Training (LPT) are also eligible to apply.
  3. AP DSC Exam: The candidate must have cleared the AP DSC Exam conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Government to be eligible for the selection process.
  4. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India and must have a domicile certificate of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

AP DSC Exam Pattern

Andhra Pradesh District Selection Committee (AP DSC) Exam pattern consists of two stages:

Stage 1: Written Examination

The written examination consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Paper 1 is for candidates applying for the posts of School Assistants, Language Pandits, and Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) while Paper 2 is for candidates applying for the posts of Physical Education Teachers (PET), School Assistants (Non-Language), and Music, Craft, Art & Drawing Teachers.

The exam pattern for Paper 1 is as follows:

  • Total duration: 2.5 hours
  • Total marks: 150
  • Number of questions: 150
  • Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Sections: General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Perspectives in Education, Classroom implications of Educational Psychology and English Language Proficiency.

The exam pattern for Paper 2 is as follows:

  • Total duration: 2.5 hours
  • Total marks: 150
  • Number of questions: 150
  • Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Sections: Physical Education/ Music/ Craft/ Art & Drawing, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, English Language Proficiency.

Note: Both papers carry equal weightage.

Stage 2: Teacher Aptitude Test (TAT)

Candidates who have qualified for the written examination will have to appear for the Teacher Aptitude Test (TAT), which is conducted to assess the teaching skills of the candidates. The TAT consists of two parts:

  • Part A: Pedagogical Issues (50 Marks)
  • Part B: English Language Proficiency (50 Marks)

Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper of the written examination and 50% marks overall in order to qualify for the TAT.
