The Honble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Reddy, launched the AP Kapu Nestham Scheme on June 24, 2020. The second phase of AP Kapu Nesthams has begun for those eligible women who were unable to register for the scheme during the first phase. These beneficiaries have one month to apply for the scheme. More than two lakh women have benefited from the first phase of the YSR Kapu Nestham scheme. YSR Kapu Nestham’s second phase recently awarded Rs. 143 crores to 95,245 women beneficiaries. To date, the selected beneficiaries have received a total of Rs. 495.87 crores.
As we all know, the respective Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the AP YSR Kapu Nestham Scheme to provide livelihood and financial empowerment to the state’s economically disadvantaged women. On January 25, 2022, the chief minister deposited Rs. 586 crores directly into the bank accounts of approximately 3.93 thousand women. Features and Benefits of the AP YSR Kapu Nestam Scheme
The scheme’s goal is to financially empower Kapu women over the age of 45 by improving their livelihood opportunities and living standards through financial assistance of Rs. 75,000/- at a rate of Rs. 15,000/- per year.
Women from the Kapu community who are 45 to 60 years old are eligible.
In rural areas, total family income should be less than Rs. 10,000 per month, and in urban areas, total family income should be less than Rs. 12,000 per month.
The family’s total land holding should be less than 3 acres of wet land, 10 acres of dry land, or 10 acres of both wet and dry land combined.
There should be no family members who are government employees or pensioners.
A four-wheeler should not be owned by a family (Taxi, Auto, Tractors Exempted).
No one in the family should pay income tax.
In urban areas, a family with no property or less than 750 square feet of built-up area.
The cabinet approved the implementation of the YSR Kapu Nestham scheme, with an initial allocation of Rs. 1,101 crore, followed by an annual allocation of Rs. 900 crore. The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of AP.
Women applying for the scheme must be from the Kapu community.
To be eligible for the scheme’s benefits, applicants must be between the ages of 45 and 60.
To qualify, women in the category must be below the poverty line.
The applicant’s family member cannot apply for the scheme if they work or are retired from any government sector.
The applicant must not own a two-wheeler; however, if the family owns an XI, Auto, tractor, or similar vehicle, they may apply for the scheme.
The applicant’s monthly income should not exceed Rs.10000 for rural women and Rs.12000 for urban women.
The family land should be classified as one of three types of property: wetland, dry land, or a combination of the two.
Families who live in cities but have less than 75 square feet of living space can apply for the scheme.
