The women, child development, and social security departments recommended these changes. Following the amendments, the pension scheme in Jharkhand will be available to all eligible people who do not fall into one of two exclusion categories. If the beneficiary or an immediate family member is an income tax payee, or if the beneficiary or family member is a permanent employee of the state, centre, or public-sector undertaking, they will be excluded.

What exactly is the Jharkhand Universal Pension Scheme?
On the auspicious occasion of Birsa Jayanti Day in Jharkhand, the current Chief Minister of Jharkhand State, Mr. Hemant Soren, launched the Jharkhand Universal Pension Scheme, with a budget of Rs 100 crore.
In this scheme, a new scheme called Jharkhand Universal Scheme has been started in place of all those schemes by simplifying all of Jharkhand state’s social schemes.
The recognition of APL and BPL cards has been removed from this scheme. This means that a BPL or APL card is no longer required to receive a pension.
Citizens of the state who do not have APL or BPL ration cards can now benefit from pension. This scheme will provide pension benefits to all Jharkhand residents.
In the Jharkhand Budget Speech 2022-23, the Finance Minister mentioned “Sir, our government has always supported the weak and the poor. To achieve this goal, the state government has proposed a Universal Pension to give pensions a concrete form. Receiving eligibility has been simplified. So far, 02 lakh 90 thousand people have benefited from the implementation of this scheme. The remainder of the beneficiaries will be covered in fiscal year 2022-23.”
