Notification 

1. The Government of Andhra Pradesh AP Holidays New List 2024 directs that the days specified in Annexure I be observed as General Holidays by all State Government Offices during the year 2024, with the exception of the holidays falling on Sundays shown in Annexure-I (A) and Optional Holidays shown in Annexure-II, with the exception of the Optional Holidays falling on Sundays shown in Annexure II(A) .
2.  The State Government directs that all State Government offices remain closed on all Sundays and Second Saturdays in all months of 2024.
3. . In addition to the General Holidays listed in Annexure-I, State Government employees may take up to (5) Optional Holidays during the year 2024 on the festivals/occasions listed in Annexure-II to this order, at their discretion and regardless of the religion to which the festival pertains. Permission to take any of these holidays must be requested in writing in advance and is normally granted by the Superior Officers competent to grant casual leave unless the presence of an individual employee is deemed necessary in the course of government business.
4.  The Government also directs that General Holidays shall not ipso facto apply to the State Government’s Industrial Establishments and Public Undertakings, as well as workers in Public Works Departments and Educational Institutions in this State. Separate orders regarding festivals/occasions when these Institutions must observe holidays will be issued by the Secretariat’s concerned Administrative Department.
5. AP Holidays New List 2024 Any change in the dates of RAMZAN, BAKRID, MOHARAM, and EID MILADUN NABI due to Moon sightings, or any other Hindu holiday, shall be announced through electronic/print media. All Secretariat Departments, Heads of Departments, and District Collectors must act in accordance with such an Announcement and without waiting for formal approval.
