Atal Amrit Abhiyan Health Insurance Scheme 2023. The Indian government launched the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, a cashless healthcare scheme for Assamese citizens. The Atal Amrit Abhiyan is a government initiative to improve the welfare of the people of ASSAM. This scheme is open to people with an annual income of less than 5 lakhs.

As the primary goal of the Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme, the government will take the necessary steps to improve people’s health by providing them with free and cashless medical treatments worth up to Rs. 2 lakhs per year. After applying for the scheme, the applicant may be eligible for a number of special benefits. The Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme provides benefits such as free medical care up to Rs. 2 lakh, cashless medical treatment and health care, and so on. Aside from these, the scheme also assists with six common and costly diseases, including kidney disease, cancer, neurological conditions, burns, Neo-natal diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. A patient in need of medical treatment can be admitted to the hospital for free.

Objectives of the Atal Amrit Abhiyan

The Atal Amrit Abhiyan aims to provide state residents with health insurance coverage worth up to Rs. 2 lakh. Cancer, kidney disease, brain and heart ailments, and burn injuries would all be covered under the Atal Amril Abhiyan health insurance scheme. People suffering from these diseases will be able to receive treatment for up to Rs. 2 lakh at all govt. and CGHS-empanelled hospitals. Each beneficiary would receive a unique identification number and a health card under the scheme.
For BPL families, the Assam Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme is free.

The smart cards have been distributed, and new cards are being distributed on a regular basis by the government. The scheme provides cashless treatment to families from the society’s Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Lower Income Group (LIG). Enrollment in the first phase of the Atal Amrit Abhiyan is still ongoing in many districts across the state, though it has been completed in others.

Key Features of the Scheme

  • The Scheme is being carried out by a single Implementation Support Agency (ISA) called Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd., which was selected and hired for the job.
  • All BPL and APL families in the state with an annual income of Rs. 5 lakh will be eligible for the scheme. The scheme does not apply to government employees’ families.
  •  Through the ISA, each adult member of an eligible family will be enrolled for the purpose of receiving a laminated ID card with a personal identification number (pin) to facilitate digital payment treatment at the empanelled health facilities. Children under the age of 18 will be enrolled with the head of the family.
  • The Scheme will be free for BPL families, with a Rs. 100/- annual enrolment fee collected from each member of the APL family.
  • The Scheme will provide inpatient treatment facilities at empanelled hospitals (private and public) for the following diseases, up to a maximum limit of Rs. 2.00 lakh per individual member per annum within and outside the State of Assam:
  1. Cardiovascular illness (CVD) Cancer.
  2. Renal (Kidney) problems
  3. Diseases affecting newborns
  4. Neurological conditions Burns

Eligibility for Atal Amrit Abhiyan

  • To be eligible for the Atal Amrit Abhiyan insurance, the candidate must meet the following criteria. The following are the requirements for receiving the Abhiyan:
  • The annual income of BPL families in the state must be less than 1.2 lakhs. This scheme will provide free health care to these families.
  • APLs with incomes ranging from 1.2 lakhs to five lakhs are required to pay a premium of Rs.100/- per year.
  • This scheme does not apply to all employees in the government sector.
  • The documents submitted should be clear, and there should be no errors in them because they have been thoroughly checked.
  • All candidates must submit proof of income because they are classified as BPL or APL based on their income.

Procedures for Atal Amrit Scheme Insurance Coverage

A health card in the shape of a government-unique identifying number would be made available to all beneficiaries under the insurance process under the Atal Amrit Yojana. This programme will provide low-income households with free smart cards until April 1, 2017. The benefits of a smart card can be obtained for around $100. To gain access to the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, each household member will be given a smart card. Renewal of a smart card will cost $100 per year under this plan.
