AP Government Rural Development order to MGNREGS-AP Raising of plantation and development of Nurseries within the premises of the Schools, Colleges and other Educational Institutions in convergence with the MGNREGS and Forest Department – Certain orders issued.
Proposal of the Commissioner, PR&RD through Note:265/Plants/RD/2015 Dt.01.09.2015
The Commissioner, PR&RD, AP, Hyderabad vide reference read above has submitted the proposal to take up raising of nurseries and plantation in the Government Schools, Colleges and other Educational institutes in the States which are having sufficient land with infrastructure facilities with suitable species to meet the demand of local communities. He also proposed to take up comprehensive programme in Schools, Colleges and other Educational institutes with the following components:
i. Land leveling and development of play fields.
ii. Raising of plantations with shade and fruit bearing trees.
iii. Raising of Nurseries.
iv. Maintenance of plantations.
Government after careful examination, hereby permitted the Commissioner, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, AP, Hyderabad to take up raising of nurseries and plantation in the Government Schools, Colleges and other Educational institutes in the States which are having sufficient land with infrastructure facilities for raising nurseries and plantation in their premises with the said components in convergence with MGNREGS and the afforestation programmes of the Forest Department.
The District Collectors shall implement the programme in the Schools, Colleges and other Educational institutions having sufficient land for raising Nurseries and Plantations identified by the District Education Officers and other authorities concerned.
The Commissioner, PR&RD, AP, Hyderabad shall prepare plans for raising nurseries and plantation in the premises of Schools, Colleges and other Educational institutions with technical support of the Forest Department and in coordination with the District Collectors.
The District Collector shall coordinate entire programme at the District level. The Commissioner of School Education and HoDs of the educational institutions in the State shall take necessary action in co-ordination with the Commissioner, PR&RD.
The raising of nurseries and plantation in the Schools, Colleges and other Educational institutions shall be taken up in convergence with the MGNREGS programme and dovetailing with the various Afforestation programme of Forest Department.
The Commissioner, PR&RD, AP, Hyderabad shall take necessary action accordingly.
