GATE Exam Schedule 2025  Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination which is conducted, Master of Engineering (ME), Master of Technology (MTech), and straight PhD admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other institutes/universities in India. It also provides access to thriving public sector undertakings (PSUs) and research opportunities. GATE is an All-India Examination Administered and Conducted in Eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee, which includes faculty members from IISc, Bangalore, and the other seven IITs, on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.  Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering  Each session is three hours long, with the forenoon session running from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the afternoon session lasting from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Negative Marking
  • For a wrong answer chosen in an MCQ, there will be negative marking.
  • For a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
  • For a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions.

There is no partial marking in MSQ.
