TS Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – Telangana students to learn 22 languages in 22 days

The Ministry has released a short dialogue consisting of five simple and commonly used sentences in languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Manipuri, Marathi, Santhali, Sindhi and Urdu among others. A book with the dialogues has been circulated by the Ministry with a day-wise schedule, for 22 days, which consists of simple sentences in English, language concerned besides its simplified translation in Roman and Devanagari scripts for use of the students in the morning assembly session. 

To ensure correct pronunciation, students and teachers can use e-sources using Quick Response (QR) codes. The audio of the sentence can be obtained by scanning the QR code on the booklet through a QR Code Scanner app on a mobile phone. This apart, a digital book with an audio recording of the dialogues has been made available on the websites http://epathashala.gov.in/, http://mhrd.gov.in/bhashasangam

Teachers have been advised to address students and converse with them in the language of the day and also encourage students to do the same. “The Union government has come up with Bhasha Sangam to promote national integration. We have received the books, which will be circulated to all schools across the State for learning the languages,” a senior official of Directorate of School Education said.

Objectives of Bhasha Sangam:

1. To introduce school students to all the 22 Indian Languages of Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India.
2. To enhance linguistic tolerance and respect, and promote national integration.

Suggestions for the Educational Administrators

1. State level organizations particularly the SCERTs/SIEs, School Boards, BIETs, DIETs, CTEs and IASEs may also organise appropriate activities at the State, District and Local levels to promote Bhasha Sangam. The officials may also converse in the language of the day.

2. All the CRCs, BRCs, BEOs and District Education Officers may lead the team of officers of their departments and visit schools to participate, encourage and appreciate the celebrations on linguistic diversity. As noted above, these officials may also be encouraged to speak in the sentences under this initiative.

3. All school head masters/principals may upload videos of the daily activities on Bhasha Sangam YouTube Channel as per the procedure below:

➢ Sign in to YouTube Channel with email ID: rangotsav@ncert.nic.in Password: *********
➢ Now see the top page, click on the icon Create a video or post
➢ Click on the first icon upload video
➢ Click on the icon select files to upload
➢ Select Files (video) from your computer/mobile handset
➢ Click on the Open button to upload
➢ Write basic information (title, description, tags) about the video
➢ Go to the icon advanced setting select Creative Commons license
➢ Click on the Publish button to finally upload the video
➢ Now sign-out from the YouTube channel.
➢ To see the videos on Bhasha Sangam, no need to sign in.

4. All State and UT Departments of School Education, the DEO and the BEO may also upload photos and videos of activities at the State/UT level, the district and the block level respectively in the same procedure as 3 above, or they may submit these directly to the Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD, Govt. of India .
