  RBI To Withdraw RS 2000 Denomination Banknotes Withdrawal From Circulation Reserve Bank of India(RBI) on Friday Announced withdrawal of Rs 2,000 currency Notes From Circulation, and Existing Notes in circulation can Either be deposited in bank Accounts or Exchanged by September 30th is last Date. bank said those holding them can get the notes exchanged with currency of other denominations. The facility will be available at any bank starting from May 23, 2023.

  3. Size and dimensions: The 2000 Rs notes are 166 mm x 66 mm in size, slightly smaller than the old 1000 Rs notes that were demonetized.
  4. Denomination numeral: The denomination numeral “2000” is displayed prominently on the front of the note, written in Devanagari script.
  5. Language: The language panel on the note contains inscriptions in 15 different Indian languages, showcasing India’s linguistic diversity.

How To Exchange 2000 Notes

To exchange 2000 Rs notes, you can follow these steps:

  1. Visit a bank: Go to any authorized bank branch in India. It can be either a public sector bank or a private sector bank.
  2. Carry identification documents: Make sure to carry valid identification documents, such as your Aadhaar card, PAN card, or any other government-issued identification proof.
  3. Fill out the required form: At the bank, you will be required to fill out a currency exchange form. Provide all the necessary details accurately, including your name, contact information, and the amount of 2000 Rs notes you wish to exchange.
  4. Submit the 2000 Rs notes: Hand over the 2000 Rs notes to the bank teller or the designated authority at the bank counter. They will verify the authenticity of the notes.

Exchange Deadline

To Complete the exercise in a time bound manner and give adequate time to people, all  banks shall provide deposit and or exchange facility for Rs 2000 banknotes until September 30, 2023.
