National Testing Agency (NTA) is an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing organisation that was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI). Its purpose is to conduct effective, transparent, and international standard tests to evaluate candidates’ competency for admission to elite higher education institutions.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will Administer the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET (UG) – 2024 on Sunday, May 5, 2024 in pen and paper mode in 13 languages. This test is a common and uniform Requirement for Admission to undergraduate Medical Education in all medical institutions. Comparably, under Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, all medical institutions governed by this Act shall require a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines, i.e., BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine.
In accordance with the 2020 National Commission for Homoeopathy Act, NEET (UG) will also be used for admission to BHMS courses English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu are the languages in which the NEET (UG) 2024 will be administered. Candidates for the MNS (Military Nursing Service) must pass NEET in order to be considered for admission to the BSc Nursing Programme offered at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals in 2024. In order to select candidates for the four-year BSc Nursing programme, the NEET score will also be taken into consideration.
NEET 2024 Exam Date and Time
NEET UG Examination is Scheduled For May 5, 2024, with a single shift from 2:00 pm to 5:20 pm. It is Recommended that Candidates Attend at the Exam Centres at least thirty minutes ahead of schedule in case there are any pre-examination formalities. Importantly, candidates should be aware that after 1:30 pm, when the NEET exam centre closes, they will not be permitted to reenter the exam hall.

Age : –
- Minimum Age : Applicants must be 17 years old by December 31, 2024. Date of birth must occur on or before December 31, 2007.

Educational Qualifications
- Applicants must have passed their 10+2 exam or be scheduled to take it.

- Candidates who meet additional requirements and want to sit for the class 12 examinations in 2024 are also eligible.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
- General Category: Minimum Qualifying of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Biotechnology.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL Categories: Minimum Qualifying of 40% in the Mentioned Subjects.
- PWD Candidates: Minimum Qualifying of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio Technology.
Number of Attempts
- There is no Restriction on the Number of Attempts a Candidate Can Make For NEET, Allowing Aspirants to improve Their Scores in Subsequent Years.
