On July 20 and 21, Candidates will be Allowed to Make Revisions to their Application Forms. Exam dates will be Announced later, and Admit cards will be Distributed Three Days Before the Exam.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a Notification for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2023, and the online application procedure has begun. The registration deadline is July 19, 2023. The NCET 2023 is an Admission Test for 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) Admissions in selected Central/State Universities/Institutions such as IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the Academic Session 2023-24. The exam will be administered via computer-based testing (CBT) in 178 cities and 13 media Across India.

About National Testing Agency

The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has Established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self- sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions with a mission to improve equity and Quality in Education by Developing and Administering Research-Based valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, fair and international level assessments.

National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a Statutory Body of the Government of India under the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. Qualifying in NCET is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission to 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in selected Central/State University/Institutions including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the Academic Session 2023-24.

Eligibility Criteria for NCET 2023

There is no upper age limit for candidates taking the NCET 2023. Candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination or are appearing in 2023, regardless of their age, are eligible to take the NCET 2023 examination. Candidates must, however, meet the age requirements (if any) of the University / Institution / Government College to which they wish to be admitted.

Qualifying Examinations (QE) List

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system, which is administered by any recognised Central/State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education in New Delhi, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations in New Delhi, and so on.
  • A recognised Board/University administers an intermediate or two-year Pre-University test.
  • The National Institute of Open Schooling conducts the final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five topics.
  • The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognises any public school/board/university examination in India or any foreign country as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
  • Vocational Examination for the Higher Secondary Certificate.
  • Candidates with a Class 12 (or equivalent) diploma

NCET 2023 – Exam Pattern

The Pattern of the Test will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be a total of 160 Questions. NCET 2023 will be held in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Section 2 (Domain-Specific Subjects):This Section includes 26 Domain-Specific Subjects. A Candidate May Select up to Three subjects. There will be 25 questions for each domain-specific subject. All questions will be mandatory.
Section 3 (General Test):This is a Required Section. The general test will consist of 25 questions. All questions will be mandatory. Section 4 (Teaching Aptitude): This is a required section. There will be 20 questions in Teaching Aptitude.
