NSIGSE Scheme Highlights
The primary goal of the NSIGSE Scheme is to reduce female school dropout rates. Students enrolled in this scheme are retained until they complete the 12th grade or reach the age of 18.
The following are the key features of the NSIGSE scheme:
- The NSIGSE Scheme provides scholarships to female students who graduate from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, regardless of tribe or caste.
- Every year, 1% of the incentive amount will be spent on student administration, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Because ST/SC female students completing their class 8 from KGBVs, government, government-aided, or private schools are typically a financially disadvantaged class of the society, there is no income limit to benefit from this plan.
- The Ministry of Home Affairs is the agency in charge of awarding the NSIGSE Scheme scholarship.
- This scheme’s scholarship is a one-time national-level incentive.
- From September to November, applications are accepted. A regular check of the official website, on the other hand, will keep you up to date on the exact application start and end dates.
Rewards and Advantages
Candidates for this scholarship will receive the following rewards and benefits:
- All eligible ninth-grade female students will receive $3000.
- The incentive amount would be deposited in the name of an eligible student in a public sector bank or post office as a term deposit or fixed deposit.
- The deposit period will begin on the date of deposit and will end when the girl reaches the age of 18.
- It is not permitted to withdraw prematurely.
- Under the Direct Benefit Transfer, the incentive/scholarship will be directly credited to the student’s bank account via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) (DBT).
- In the unfortunate event that the candidate dies before reaching the age of 18, the incentive amount will be transferred back to the Central Government’s account.
