KTET or Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan to assess the eligibility of candidates who wish to become teachers in various schools in Kerala. The eligibility criteria for KTET are as follows:
Educational Qualification:
Category I (Lower Primary Classes):
- Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and should have completed a 2-year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its Equivalent.
Category II (Upper Primary Classes):
- Candidates should have passed BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45% marks and should have completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its Equivalent.
Category III (High School Classes):
- Candidates should have passed BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45% marks and should have completed a BEd degree in the subject concerned from any recognized university in Kerala or its Equivalent.
Category IV (Language Teachers):
- Candidates should have passed BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45% marks and should have completed a BEd degree in the subject concerned from any recognized university in Kerala or its Equivalent.
