Engineering College Faculty to Train Govt School Teachers in Andhra Pradesh

Government of Andhra Pradesh has Devised a Novel plan to use final-year B Tech and M Tech students majoring in electronics and computers as resource people to teach high school students “future skills.” The programme will launch on January 6th.

About Skill Development & Education Sector

Andhra Pradesh is dedicated to advancing education and skill development as a priority area. The State is putting in place a cascading skill ecosystem that aims to penetrate the skill development process at the local level through the use of skill hubs and skill colleges that offer courses at the National Skills Qualification Framework level that are in line with industry demand.

To meet the demands of the youth in terms of skill development, the Andhra Pradesh government has also established a strong ecosystem for Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The State of Andhra Pradesh has organised short-term skilling programmes for approximately 58,000 candidates annually in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), the Society for Employment generation and Entrepreneurship Development in Andhra Pradesh (SEEDAP), and the National Academy of Construction (NAC).

Sector Highlights & Key Initiatives
  • 175 Skill hubs with an Annual Training Capacity of 51000 Candidates With NSQF level 1-4 courses have been Suggested in Every legislative Assembly Constituency.
  • 26 skill Colleges with a yearly Training Capacity of 26,000 students at NSQF level 4 and above are located throughout all of the parliamentary constituencies.
  • The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has Acknowledged the Industry Customised Skill Training and Placement (ICSTP) Programme as one of the best practices.
  • 100 engineering colleges housed in upscale IT facilities that are dedicated to offering internationally Recognised Certification courses through CM’s Skill Excellence Centres.
  • High-End Training labs were constructed across 40 institutions as part of the SIEMENS Programme, which includes 34 Technical Skill Development Institutes and 6 Centres of Excellence.
